Glenn Beck weighs in on McMillan / Bank of America controversy
Central Plains Enterprises, llc is a small cast bullet manufacturer and a very small piece of the firearms industry. We found it interesting that a large bank would turn down one of their existing customers for continued business because they now make firearms. Of course our concern is what if it happened to us? Could we continue in business without the support of a bank? What if it all banks turned us down because we make cast bullets? Of course being in rural Nebraska there is almost no chance that would happen in our lifetimes but still you have to ponder the question.
Glenn Beck[i] picked up on the story and explains how the story unfolds.
This fight is largely unfolding on Facebook instead of the main stream media outlets. McMillan claims 12 years of doing business with the bank only to get told to find someone else to do business with. Each side has its own version on what happened and I can tell you I am siding with McMillan. We suggest everyone listen, read and make their own decision based on what is right for them. I am not a fan of big business in general as too often they hold all the cards. It kind of follows the thought process of "A government big enough to give you everything you need, is a government big enough to take away everything that you have...." Thomas Jefferson. You can just about say the same for big business as far as taking away especially as it pertains to small business.
Our business model is based on business to consumer rather than business to business. We would rather have sales to hundreds of small customers than a handful of distributors. We could potentially move more bullets through large distributors but what would the cost be if they stopped doing business with us? It takes a long time to build trust one person at a time but we feel that if we can provide a good product at a fair price our chance of repeat business is very good. If we have a few shooters quit reloading their own ammunition we can still survive. The same may not be true if we lost one business that purchased a third of our bullets or better.
We will work hard to earn your business by providing a good cast bullet at a fair price. We will try to keep your business with fast shipping and great customer service. Thank you to all of our loyal customers!
